Food security and plant-based nutrition advocacy program, implemented by a locally-led organisation in Kenya, aims to address the critical issues of sustainable food production and healthy dietary choices within local communities. This program focuses on promoting access to diverse, nutrient-rich plant-based foods to ensure a balanced and healthy diet for all individuals, while also supporting sustainable agriculture practices that contribute to long-term food security.
Through this program, the organisation collaborates with local communities to raise awareness about the benefits of plant-based nutrition, encourage the adoption of sustainable farming techniques, and provide training on effective agricultural practices. By promoting the consumption of locally grown fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes, the program not only improves the nutritional status of individuals but also supports local farmers and enhances food sovereignty.

Additionally, the program emphasises the importance of food security by addressing issues of food scarcity, food waste reduction, and building resilience against climate change impacts. By empowering communities to take ownership of their food systems and prioritise plant-based nutrition, this program contributes to building a healthier, more sustainable future for individuals and the environment in Kenya.
